Easy Home Décor Ideas for Independence Day


With 15 Aug just few days away, radios and newspapers are filled with patriotism. As it’s the grand celebration of year, you must also come forward to show a soft corner for the country. I know many overlook decorating home for the Independence Day but there is nothing bad in creating a patriotic décor. Instead, it could be so much fun to get in a festive mood and make some temporary changes for the 15 Aug themed decoration. Here we are with some innovative ideas for the same which are quite overwhelming.

  1. Railing Charm- Across your terrace, veranda, front door or balcony railings, flaunt blunting. Very much pretty and charismatic, it’s a playful method to set the right festive mood. Decorations using cloth, paper, plastic etc form draperies and wide streamers in colors of national flag could spread your expression of freedom smartly.
  2. Cushions- Simple and very effective, no need to say-white, orange and green are your colors to play. Let cushion covers in tricolor sit over your couch, bed or chairs. Living room furniture would suddenly get the patriotic feel with the hint of these colors. You could place three colors together or make them scattered throughout the space, choice is totally yours.
  3. Inside Display- Your white walls might require a tinge of green curtains for the nourishing atmosphere. If possible instead of wooden go for jute furniture for the traditional feel. Further, instead of carpets rely on plain colored shags to bring on the glamour right way on your ceramic floors.  Spread a fresh white bed sheet with floral prints in green, red or orange for gorgeous outlook or a striped sheet with these three color combinations.
  4.  Tablescape- Get green glass vases from a local store and fill it with white lilies and orange tulips or dahlias. If you don’t get time for the flowers, take out old vase and paint it with tricolor. Place tricolored candles over mats or runner to protect your table from melting wax. Don’t forget to use food colors to add the patriotic flavor in your dishes, drinks as well.
  5. Add on-Fill your candy jars with each color in flag, you could also use blue that denotes chakra in the middle. Paper flags on your walls, balloons or lantern or pinwheels in theme based colors can spread the fragrance of independence all across the house. Strings of light are not only for Diwali, they could be used along with streamers for the sophistication.
